{"id":10155,"date":"2026-10-11T15:14:47","date_gmt":"2026-10-11T15:14:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/?p=10155"},"modified":"2026-10-11T15:52:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T15:52:09","slug":"xim-unnovations-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/?p=10155","title":{"rendered":"XIM-UNNOVATIONS\u2019 26"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bhubaneswar <em>10 th October, 2026<\/em> [ADN] <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The School of Human Settlements (SHS), XIM University, Bhubaneswar <\/strong>collaborated with their functional committee <strong>HabituX<\/strong>, hosted their annual student fest <strong>UNNOVATIONS\u2019 26<\/strong> on <strong>9th &#8211; 10th<\/strong> <strong>October, 2026<\/strong>. With urbanization and its environmental impacts growing rapidly but awareness of urban issues remaining low among youth, the fest themed as a <strong>\u201cFestival of Urban Ideas and Innovations\u201d <\/strong>aimed to spark curiosity and ideation and invited students from across India to ideate and compete on urban sustainability challenges through academic and cultural activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"686\" src=\"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/847392-1024x686.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10159\" srcset=\"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/847392-1024x686.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/847392-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/847392-768x514.jpg 768w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/847392.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fest commenced with an address by <strong>Dr Kajri Misra, Dean, School of Human Settlements,<\/strong> along with <strong>Dr Tiyali Bose, Faculty Coordinator, HabituX,<\/strong> and the student HabituX Team. The Dean welcomed the participants and spoke about the genesis of SHS and XIM University&#8217;s vision of nurturing expertise for a sustainable urban future through its unique MBA in Urban Management and Governance programme. She highlighted that cities are largely responsible for many of today&#8217;s environmental issues, so global sustainability depends largely on changing current patterns of urban development. She explained that students from all disciplines can help resolve issues of urban resilience and sustainability, and stressed the need to develop urban areas for health, safety, community interaction and relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1013\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/845105-1013x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/845105-1013x1024.jpg 1013w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/845105-297x300.jpg 297w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/845105-768x776.jpg 768w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/845105-1519x1536.jpg 1519w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/845105-2026x2048.jpg 2026w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1013px) 100vw, 1013px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over 200 students from across the country took part in competitions such as <strong>Dream City<\/strong>, <strong>The Mayor&#8217;s Discourse<\/strong>, <strong>Quizzite<\/strong>, developing ideas for greener, livable, equitable and sustainable habitats, in online and offline mode. The theme for <strong>Dream City<\/strong> was &#8220;<strong>From Flood to Flow: Reimagining Urban Water Management&#8221;,<\/strong> which sought to shift the paradigm from treating urban water as a disaster to using it as a resource. The <strong>Mayor&#8217;s Discourse<\/strong> focused on &#8220;<strong>Digitization of Urban Municipal Governance and Urban Municipal Service Delivery&#8221;. <\/strong>Creative contests like <strong><em>Shutterbug<\/em><\/strong><em> (urban photography), <strong>Face It On <\/strong>(face painting) <\/em>and<em> <strong>Rhythm<\/strong> (performances)<\/em> encouraged expression and engagement with urban themes. This year&#8217;s <strong>Shutterbug<\/strong> captured the diversity of people and lives in a city and its <strong>&#8220;Migration &amp; the City&#8221;<\/strong> component revealed stories of people who moved to the city for work, education or survival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-9-16 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"#Behavioral change | is the only thing | that&amp;apos;s being | sustainability\" width=\"540\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/plZa99569o8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First prize winners included Sai Shreerupa Priyadarshini and Somanath Panigrahi from XIM University, Bhubaneswar (Dream City), Jitangshu Nath from the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) (The Mayor&#8217;s Discourse), Ankita Singh from XIM University, Bhubaneswar (Shutterbug), Arpita Mohapatra and Arpita Priyadarshini from Siksha &#8216;O&#8217; Anusandhan (Quizzite), Priyanshi Majumdar and Sambit Pattnaik from Trident Academy of Creative Technology (Face It On), and Team Divine from Utkal University (Rhythm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dr Kajri Misra<\/strong> delivered the concluding remarks, and the fest closed with a vote of thanks by <strong>Ms. Swar Sadhna Ranjan<\/strong>, Coordinator, HabituX.
