Odisha, the Maritime Gateway of Eastern India, has once again showcased its maritime strength, innovation, and cultural depth on a national platform. The Odisha State Stall at the India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 in Mumbai has been awarded as the Best Stalls, recognising its creative design, engaging content, and visionary presentation of the State\u2019s maritime heritage and future outlook. The award was presented by Hon\u2019ble Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal.Sri Bidhan chandra Ray ,Addl Secretary C&T and Sri Padmalochan Roul,Director Ports & IWT & Capt Sushant Bag, CNO ,OMB received the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Curated by the Commerce & Transport Department, Government of Odisha, and the Odisha Maritime Board, the stall was designed around the theme \u201cOdisha \u2013 Voyage of Heritage and Hope.\u201d It vividly captured the evolution of Odisha\u2019s maritime journey \u2014 from the ancient Boita Bandana traditions and shipbuilding craftsmanship of Kalinga to the State\u2019s modern port-led development, shipbuilding clusters, inland waterways, cruise tourism, and blue economy initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Odisha Stall attracted widespread appreciation from dignitaries, industry leaders, and visitors for its immersive storytelling and creative depiction \u2014 seamlessly connecting Odisha\u2019s glorious maritime past with its forward-looking vision for sustainable coastal and trade development. The recognition at IMW 2025 reaffirms Odisha\u2019s leadership in India\u2019s maritime transformation, where heritage meets innovation, steering the course toward a Viksit Odisha and Viksit Bharat.
