{"id":4682,"date":"2026-02-03T15:25:32","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T15:25:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/?p=4682"},"modified":"2026-02-03T15:27:22","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T15:27:22","slug":"4682","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/?p=4682","title":{"rendered":"NABARD pegs Odisha\u2019s priority sector credit potential\u00a0at \u20b93.15 lakh crore for FY\u201927"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Bhubaneswar, 03 February 2026: (ADN)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) today hosted the State Credit Seminar 2026\u201327 here and released the State Focus Paper (SFP) projecting \u20b93.15 lakh crore of priority sector credit potential for Odisha in FY 2026\u201327. Out of the total projections, MSMEs form the largest share at \u20b91.52 lakh crore, while agriculture accounts for \u20b91.14 lakh crore, with the balance spread across housing, education, renewable energy, social infrastructure, export credit and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seminar was chaired by Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha and was also attended by Shri Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, IAS, Principal Secretary (Finance), Government of Odisha, Dr. Sarada Prasan Mohanty, Regional Director, RBI, Shri A.D. Ratna Teja, CGM, SBI and Shri Goutam Patra, CGM, UCO Bank &amp; Convenor, SLBC in the presence of controlling Heads of Banks, officials from State Government departments and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"497\" src=\"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/517282-1024x497.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4686\" srcset=\"https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/517282-1024x497.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/517282-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/517282-768x373.jpg 768w, https:\/\/agamiduniya.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/517282.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Inaugurating the seminar, the Chief Secretary underlined the State Government\u2019s thrust on Vision 2036 blueprint and sought support from all stakeholders to achieve the ambitious target of becoming a developed State by 2036 and a USD 1.5 trillion economy by 2047.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFulfilling Odisha\u2019s Vision 2036 aspirations would take sincere efforts from one and all \u2013 the State government, public as well as private sectors. The Banks must be well prepared to provide the enhanced credit,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appreciating the progress made in the State in supporting SHGs and farmers, she highlighted the need to transition them to the next level of prosperity. \u201cFocus must be accorded on graduating SHGs into SMEs, farmers into agripreneurs,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Underlining the challenge of \u201cmissing middle\u201d in MSME sector, she urged the bankers to provide credit support to create greater number of small and mid-sized industries in the state.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, she also called for closer collaboration between banks and line departments to speed up credit for agri-infrastructure, warehousing, off-farm ventures, and women-led SHGs. While praising the credit growth in the State, the Principal Secretary, Finance, Government of Odisha called for more balanced regional development.\u201cFocus should also be given to boost credit in tribal and disadvantaged regions,\u201d he said. He further called upon the private sector banks to increase credit dissemination in the priority sector across the State in a bid to enhance CD ratio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Regional Director, RBI, in his address, urged the banks to own up the projections prescribed in the State Focus Paper, which would subsequently translate into the Annual Credit Plan of the State.&nbsp; CGM, SBI appreciated NABARD\u2019s efforts in preparing the State Focus Paper through a consultative and bottom-up approach. The SLBC Convenor said while the banks had made impressive progress in deposits and credit growth, challenges remained, including uneven CD ratios, low term lending, and gaps in KCC coverage.
