*A State-level Consultation Workshop on CM-SAMPADA initiative held under the Chairpersonship of Chief Secretary<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bhubaneswar 11\/2\/2026<\/strong> [ADN] The Planning & Convergence Department, Government of Odisha, organised a State-level Consultation Workshop on CM-SAMPADA initiative on 11th February 2026 in Bhubaneswar to gather insights and guidance for accelerated development of mining-affected regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM-SAMPADA is a flagship initiative by the Planning & Convergence Dept. aimed at ensuring accelerated development of mining-affected people through optimal utilisation of DMF funds. The initiative focuses on saturating priority interventions in health, nutrition, education and essential infrastructure across mining-affected districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was convened under the Chairpersonship of the Chief Secretary Ms. Anu Garg in presence of  Development Commissioner-cum-ACS Shri Deoranjan Kumar Singh with participation from 12 line departments and 11 DMF district Collectors. The consultation served as a structured forum to deliberate on proposed interventions and the way forward for its operationalisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Secretary  Ms. Garg reaffirmed the State\u2019s commitment to placing mining-affected regions at the centre of Odisha\u2019s development trajectory. The Chief Secretary emphasised that CM-SAMPADA would require mining districts and departments to work together towards a shared vision of prosperity, wellness and equity. Emphasizing equity as a core priority, she called for accelerated development in mining villages to bridge existing gaps and ensure inclusive growth, supported by accountable and results-oriented implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Development Commissioner Shri Singh stated that mining is the backbone of Odisha\u2019s economy and he underscored the State\u2019s responsibility towards mining-affected communities. He stressed sustainability through skilling and entrepreneurship as essential to translating DMF resources into lasting improvements in quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Districts and departments engaged in substantive dialogue on charting a clear and time- bound pathway towards saturation of government benefits in mining-affected villages, with     a focus on aligning DMF resources to ensure comprehensive coverage of priority entitlements and services at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feasibility and potential impact of interventions based on district specific context, challenges and unique mining-related conditions were also discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The insights and guidance received will be used to refine the CM-SAMPADA framework on top of strengthened District-Department coordination through an outcome-oriented approach to further the vision of Viksit Odisha.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
