It spreads through direct contact with the blood, body fluids, or tissues of an infected person or animal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In an update on Friday, the WHO&#8217;s head Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also said the risk in the wider region in Africa was &#8220;high&#8221;, but it remained &#8220;low&#8221; at a global level.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Common symptoms<br>Symptoms usually appear 2\u201321 days after infection and may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sudden fever<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Severe weakness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Headache<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Muscle pain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sore throat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vomiting and diarrhea<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stomach pain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rash<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In severe cases: internal and external bleeding<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How it spreads<br>Ebola does not spread through air like common cold or COVID-19. It mainly spreads through:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contact with infected blood or body fluids<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contaminated needles or medical equipment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Handling infected animals such as bats or primates<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Treatment<br>There is no simple home cure.
