But the plane crashed shortly after takeoff. Bose was severely burned and died in a hospital in Taiwan. But at that time, many Indians did not believe in his death.

The Indian government formed several commissions to investigate the truth behind Bose’s death or disappearance. But no evidence was found that he was still alive.

Born in January 1857 in Cuttack to a wealthy family, Subhas Bose was a brilliant student. He passed the Indian Civil Services (ICS) examination held in England, but did not join the service as he did not want to serve under the British government.

He returned to India in 1921 and joined the Indian National Congress. He was sent to prison and in 1925 was sent to Mandela (a British-run prison set up in Burma/Myanmar) and was released in 1927.

He created a new identity for the party as a young leader by adopting an aggressive stance against colonialism. He promised to achieve complete independence rather than just self-rule.

He was also not averse to the use of force against the British. He participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement and was imprisoned again. He became the Mayor of Calcutta in 1930. By 1938, he had become a national leader and was elected the President of the Congress party. He was a radical nationalist and resigned shortly after.

He formed the All India Forward Bloc which became a faction within the Congress.

After the outbreak of World War II, Bose fled to Germany via Afghanistan and the Soviet Union. He was arrested by the British government. In Berlin, he founded the Free India Legion and Azad Hind Radio. In 1943, he left Germany for Japan and led the Indian National Army, which was largely made up of former British Indian prisoners.
Inspired by Bose’s leadership, many expatriates joined the INA .

“Give me blood, I will give you freedom.” On 18 August 1945, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was boarding

[31

post-8779","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-31
["GET
