Shri Rupu Bhatra, Honble MLA, Kotpad attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, School and Mass Education Department, was present as the Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests included Director of Higher Secondary Education Smt. Niyati Pattnaik, Council Chairman Shri Mrunal Kanti Das, Secretary Smt. Subhrabala Behera, Vice-Chairman Akrura Barik, and Controller of Examinations Dr. Prasanta Kumar Parida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this occasion, the Chief Guest praised the Council&#8217;s flawless examination management and emphasized on the quality of education. He stated that the Council has continuously strived to strengthen the foundation of education and expressed that it has brought revolutionary changes in education based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Similarly, attending as the Guest of Honour, the Commissioner-cum-Secretary highlighted that under NEP 2020, priority is being given to designing a new curriculum focused on experiential learning and steps are being taken to prepare reference books in Odia for science stream for helping in competitive exam preparation. The Council has been provided 10 crore to develop digital content for helping the students. Vocational education is also receiving focus so that students become skilled in at least one trade after passing Plus Two, alongside efforts to strengthen government vocational higher secondary schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Secretary further informed that efforts are underway to merge both the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) into a single unified board. Additionally, he stated that Honble Chief Minister has approved for starting Plus 2 courses through open schooling i.e through State Institute of Open Schooling (SIOS) in coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attending as another distinguished guest, Director of Higher Secondary Education Smt. Pattnaik extended her warm wishes to all members on the Council completing 43 years. Delivering the welcome address, the Chairman of council discussed the importance of foundational education for students and called upon teachers to identify students&#8217; talents and support their growth. The Controller of Examinations gave vote of thanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The annual report was presented by the Council Secretary during the event. The dignitaries unveiled the Council&#8217;s annual souvenir, &#8220;Prajna,&#8221; and rewarded winning students of the debate competition.
