Sulochana Das, called on Hon\u2019ble Minister for Housing &amp; Urban Development Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra at his official residence today and presented the trophies and certificates received for outstanding performance in the ward-level clean-air assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The delegation included Deputy Mayor Smt. Manjulata Kanhar, BMC Commissioner Shri Chanchal Rana, Deputy Commissioner (Sanitation) Shri N. Ganesh Babu, Chairperson of the Sanitation Standing Committee and Corporators representing Wards No. 30, 36 and 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a significant achievement, Ward No. 36 and Ward No. 30 of BMC secured top positions in the national ward-level clean-air assessment. Ward No. 13 of Rourkela Municipal Corporation also secured a top position, bringing further recognition to Odisha\u2019s efforts towards improving urban air quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The achievement highlights Odisha\u2019s decentralised and community-driven approach to clean-air management, with a strong focus on localised planning, citizen participation and sustained implementation of environmental measures at the grassroots level. The performance of the wards demonstrates how active participation of citizens, elected representatives and urban local bodies can contribute significantly to creating cleaner and healthier urban environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congratulating the BMC team, Hon\u2019ble Minister Dr. Mahapatra expressed his happiness over the recognition and appreciated the collective efforts of the elected representatives, officials and citizens. He said that the achievement was a matter of pride for Bhubaneswar as well as Odisha and called upon the BMC team to work with renewed commitment to achieve even better results in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Minister emphasised that maintaining clean air is a continuous responsibility requiring sustained efforts, effective local action and active community participation.
