*Strengthening Citizen-Centric Urban Governance

The Housing & Urban Development Department (H&UDD), Government of Odisha, today organised a workshop on SUJOG 2.0, focusing on making urban services more citizen-friendly, transparent, and efficient.
The workshop began with a welcome address by Dr. Subrata Kumar Biswal, State Lead, eGov Foundation. This was followed by the launch of the SUJOG Impact Assessment Report conducted by 60_decibels, which highlights the achievements of SUJOG 1.0.
Senior officials including Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, H&UDD; Shri Viraj Tyagi, CEO, eGov Foundation; Shri Arindam Dakua, Director Municipal Administration, BMC Commissioner Shri Chanchal Rana and CMC Commissioner Ms. Kirandeep Kaur Sahota attended the inaugural session.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt Padhee said that public services must build trust and go beyond mere transactions. She noted that SUJOG 2.0 aims to upgrade technology and governance systems to ensure transparent, accountable, and smooth urban service delivery across the State.
The second session highlighted how SUJOG 2.0 will support the vision of Viksit Odisha 2036. Shri Prashanth Chandramouleeswaran, Director, eGov Foundation, explained that the upgraded platform will improve service delivery, strengthen grievance redressal, encourage citizen participation, and promote data-based decision-making.
Another session focused on the role of Artificial Intelligence. Shri Manish Srivastava, CTO, eGov Foundation, discussed potential AI applications in sanitation, municipal services, regulatory systems, urban planning, and data analytics.
In the closing session, Smt Padhee and Shri Dakua, emphasised the need for teamwork and coordination among all departments and Urban Local Bodies for the successful rollout of SUJOG 2.0 across Odisha.
