Bhubaneswar 21.04.2026 [ADN] Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. (OHPC) celebrated its 31st Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and grandeur at the IMMT Auditorium, Bhubaneswar on 21st April 2026. The event witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries, senior officials, employees and distinguished guests.
Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt., Energy and Electronics & IT and CMD, OHPC, presided over the function. Shri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), Shri Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) and Shri Rajeeb Lochan Panda, Director (Projects) were present on the dais.
The programme commenced with the arrival of distinguished guests, followed by the singing of “Bande Utkal Janani,” setting a ceremonial tone for the evening. Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), delivered the welcome address.
On this occasion, several key initiatives were unveiled, including the launch of the OHPC Theme Song, the revamped OHPC website, Online E-Varun and Integration of OSWAS 2.0, signifying a major step towards digital governance and improved administrative efficiency. Recognizing excellence and performance, OHPC honoured its units for outstanding achievements during the year 2025–26. The Best Performing Unit award was conferred on Rengali Hydro Electric Project, Rengali. The 2nd Best Performing Unit award was presented to Upper Indravati Hydro Electric Project, Mukhiguda, while the Best Housekeeping Unit award was awarded to Hirakud Hydro Electric Project, Burla.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, appreciating OHPC’s contributions to the power sector and the State’s development. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Rajeeb Lochan Panda, Director (Projects).
The evening was enlivened by a vibrant cultural programme featuring captivating performances that enthralled the audience. The performers were also felicitated as a token of appreciation.
As part of the Foundation Day celebrations, a Blood Donation Camp was also organized in association with the Indian Red Cross Society. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees and volunteers, resulting in the collection of around 40 litres of blood, reflecting OHPC’s commitment towards social responsibility and community welfare.
