Bhubaneswar, April 15. 2026 [ADN] : Celebrating its recent win as India’s Best Young Design Studio 2026, city-based Rareform Studio hosted a panel discussion titled “The Future of Odisha’s Design Culture” today, convening prominent creative leaders, industry veterans, and cultural practitioners to map out the state’s evolving creative landscape.

The forum centered on the critical intersection of Odisha’s architectural and craft heritage with contemporary industrial and digital identity. Panelists deliberated on how homegrown regional studios can transform traditional artistic idioms into globally competitive design solutions without diluting indigenous authenticity.

Opening the session, Prashant Dwibedi, Co-Founder of Rareform Studio, underscored the practice’s foundational ethos: prioritizing concept over mere decoration.
”Our state’s temple architecture, indigenous crafts, and classical performing arts represent a sophisticated visual grammar,” Dwibedi stated. “Our approach is to treat that heritage not as a static museum relic, but as active fuel for modern branding and structural storytelling.”
Co-Founder and Creative Head Neel Aya addressed the studio’s national milestone, attributing the recognition to a steadfast commitment to context-driven narratives. He noted that establishing and scaling the studio from Bhubaneswar provided a distinct spatial identity that set its work apart on nationwide platforms.

During the interactive panel, participants examined the infrastructural gaps and commercial opportunities facing emerging design talent in Tier-2 ecosystems. Key takeaways included the necessity of formal design-business partnerships, academic incubation pipelines for vernacular crafts, and the retention of local creative talent.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Dwibedi reiterated that the national accolade marks a starting line rather than a finish: ”The objective is clear: create from Odisha, build for India, and export these ideas globally. Fulfilling that ambition demands an open, resilient ecosystem right here at home where young practitioners can build sustainable careers.”
The conclave concluded with an open networking session between design students, agency founders, and institutional partners.
