Bhubaneswar, 30 September 2026 [ADN]: Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida today reviewed the ongoing development and comprehensive beautification works at the renowned Shikhar Chandi Temple in Bhubaneswar. Ahead of the upcoming Navratri and the winter tourism season, she directed officials to expedite the project so that devotees and tourists can access improved facilities.
The review meeting was attended by Commissioner-cum-Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, Shri Balwant Singh, along with senior departmental officials and public representatives.
During the review, detailed discussions were held on the comprehensive development plan for the temple premises, including beautification, widening and improvement of approach roads, drinking water facilities for devotees, parking arrangements, rest areas and other essential amenities. It was informed that the first phase of the project is targeted for completion before Navratri and will be made available for devotees.
Shri Balwant Singh apprised the Deputy Chief Minister of the progress of various works and the coordination among different departments for timely implementation of the project.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Government is committed to developing Shikhar Chandi Temple as an important spiritual and tourism destination. She directed the concerned officials to ensure that all construction and development works are completed within the stipulated timeline while maintaining quality standards and ensuring convenience for devotees and visitors.
