Bhubaneswar, Odisha – January 11, 2026: (ADN) The Annual Flower Show 2026 at Ekamra Kanan concluded on a high note today, with Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, Chief Secretary, Odisha gracing the third day as the chief dignitary. She was accompanied by Shri Bhaskar Sharma, IAS, Principal Secretary, Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, and Sri P.K. Jha, IFSC, PCCF (WL) & CW LW, as Guest of Honour and warmly hosted by Shri Sudhanshu Sekhar Khora, IFS, Chief Executive, RPRC.

Welcomed with floral bouquets at the venue, Smt. Garg took a detailed walkthrough of the thematic floral installations, selfie points and plant bazaar, and appreciated the way in which the show has brought together “Prakruti, Parampara o Pushpara Parba” for the people of Odisha. She shared words of encouragement with the organising team and frontline staff, commending RPRC and the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department for creating a public platform where conservation, culture and community participation come together.
During the formal ceremony, the Chief Secretary presented prizes and certificates to participating nurseries and brands whose spectacular floral structures and displays added extraordinary beauty to the show. She also felicitated representatives from Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Hotel & Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) and other partner institutions, warmly acknowledging the invaluable partnership of public and private stakeholders in making the event a success.
While the flower show dazzled visitors with 50,000 sq. ft. of floral displays, over 65+ plant stalls and vibrant selfie points, Day 3 also underlined that the festival was not only about colour and fragrance, but also about knowledge and ideas. Expert-led workshops over the three days covered themes such as Dehydrated Floral Craft, Orchid for Beauty and Prosperity, prospects of Floriculture in Odisha, Rooftop & Home Gardening, Hydroponics Cultivation, Bonsai and Rose Cultivation, turning the Botanic Garden into a living classroom for gardeners, students and citizens.
The Plant Bazaar, designed as a corridor of “mini nurseries”, continued to draw large crowds on the final day, with visitors exploring and buying a wide range of ornamental plants, indoor greens, saplings and garden essentials. The curated food court, supported by leading hospitality brands, provided a relaxed space for families to unwind between their floral walks and cultural engagements.
As dusk fell, the cultural segment of the flower show drew to a graceful close. An enchanting recital by Sri Digvijay Singh Chauhan & Group, disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, brought together music and blossoms in a soulful finale. Their performance, set against the illuminated gardens of Ekamra Kanan, offered a fitting ode to three mesmerising days where flowers, music and people bloomed together.
With overwhelming public response, strong institutional partnerships and an immersive blend of science, culture and citizen participation, the Annual Flower Show 2026 has reaffirmed Ekamra Kanan’s place as Bhubaneswar’s green cultural hub, and strengthened RPRC’s ongoing efforts to connect Odisha’s people more closely with nature.
